At Royal Coachman, we take great pride in the skills and knowledge of our professionally trained chauffeurs. They take the rules of the road seriously and are devoted to transporting all of our customers safely and securely, and on time. From time to time, we hear about some strange and funny driving laws that are on the books in countries from around the world, and we thought it would be fun to share some of these peculiar regulations with you today.
You can actually drink an alcoholic beverage while driving in Costa Rica just as long as you don’t imbibe so much that you become inebriated, according to Smarter Travel. If you overdo it, though and have a blood alcohol level of more than 0.75, you face incarceration.
In the meantime, you are not allowed to drink or eat anything, or you will be subject to a fine. That kind of rule wouldn’t likely get much support in the United States, where drive-through fast food restaurants supply us with munchies on the go.
Russia is home to some cleanliness-loving lawmakers. They will charge you approximately 2,000 rubles if you drive around in a dirty car.
When driving on Germany’s Autobahn, you are considered to be a lawbreaker if you run out of gas and have to pull over to the side of the road. The government says that since such you can easily keep gas in your tank, there is no excuse for running out of fuel on this fast highway.
If you need to wear corrective lenses when driving, make sure to bring an extra pair of glasses with you when visiting Spain. That sounds like a good idea, since it’s based on the same reasoning as the need to carry a spare tire with you in case of emergency.
We’re lucky that we don’t have to deal with all of these funny driving laws in a single country! Remember that one of the best things about relying on the services of professional chauffeurs is that you don’t have to worry about navigating unfamiliar roads or staying aware of the various regulations that apply to driving in different locations.
